In this 20-minute, color video team members and leaders learn how to identify their team player style, acknowledge the value of other styles, switch their style to help the team succeed and then blend and merge their collective strengths. I host and narrate the video as it follows the journey of a diverse group of team players as they try to work together to design a new racing sailboat. Although your team may not be concerned with sail ratios and turbulence rates, the same team issues can tear any team apart. And everyone appreciates the humorous touches throughtout the video that show things always go better when you loosen up a little.
At first, the negative side or excesses of each team player's style causes conflict and threatens to derail the design project. Slowly each member begins to see the value that their teammates bring to the work of the team. With more appreciation and knowledge of each person's stengths, the creative juices that flow from an exchange of differences leads to a breakthrough in the design and a successful completion of the project.
